Peter Boughton: the latest member of the Railo Community Team!

Hi there, this is Peter Boughton, and I have accepted an offer to become part of the Railo Community Team in the role of Community Documentation Coordinator.

What that means is: if any piece of Railo documentation does not exist or is not yet perfect, it's my responsibility to ensure this gets fixed. :)

I will be writing and improving documentation myself, as well as encouraging others to contribute. (There have been some good additions recently, so I hope to keep this going.)

For those that don't know me, I'll write a little bit about myself and my relationship with CFML - unfortunately I don't have a glamorous background in astrophysics ...well, I do own a telescope, does that count? ;)

I'm basically just a creative guy interested in what I can make with computers - I started as a kid with a ZX Spectrum, later an Amiga, then finally PCs. I discovered websites whilst at school, decided to apply for Computer Science at university, and in my placement year I discovered CFML. I was a PHP developer at that time, so there was a little bit of reluctance to the strange new thing, but once I got on with using it I was soon converted, and switched all my hobby projects across to CFML too. In 2004, I left uni and got a job as a CFML developer, and in 2006 I discovered Railo and became an instant fan.

Over the years I've been moderately involved with the CFML community: often grumpy when people don't follow usability and accessibility; trying to help developers to understand regex; I've released and contributed to Open Source projects; and I've generally tried to support good practices - which of course includes producing decent documentation!

So obviously I am happy to accept this opportunity to help Railo move forward, and hope that I can have a positive impact on the improvements already being made to Railo's documentation.
