Performance again

Today another performance comparison was posted in a private blog.Of course benchmark testing needs to be done under well defined circumstances, but like already other reports it points to a certain direction.

Some Railo 2.0 considerations:
Peter Boughton's considerations

As you might know Sean Corfield tested the former release of Railo 1.1 as well:
An Architect's View

BTW: we are progressing on Transfer ORM. It seems that with some minor changes Transfer will work as well. I will blog about the Transfer integration in Railo soon.

Great news on Transfer! That is what I am wanting to try as I test out Railo 2.0.
One other framework that you may be interested in, is Coldbox. My initial testing shows that Coldbox works with Railo 2.0 and Luis appears to be testing with Railo, as he stated that he has made Railo specific changes to the SVN source of Coldbox.

Also, any estimate on the release date of Railo 2.0?

    Hi Terry,

Well we're not done yet with Transfer, but I'll post about it as soon as possible. The problem is, that Transfer contains some internal function only known to CFMX. But we will contribute to Transfer a little so that it works with nearly every engine.
As far as I know, Coldbox is already running on Railo and Luis Majano already tested the RC of Railo 2.0.
As far as the release date is concerned I can say the following: Next week RC2 will come out and the following week RC3. The final release will be out around the 20th of July.
    Just stay tuned.

I'd love to see an updated performance contest between BD 7, Railo, and CF 8

    Hi Jeff,

you know I'd like to do such a test, but the thing is, that such tests have to be done by independent and unprejudiced persons. Because only then the results are trustworthy.
